We are eager to correct a few common assumptions about solar power. You might have heard that tax credits are going away this year; you can't have solar power if you live on the Hilo side where there isn't much sun; all of the HELCO grids are full; and that solar power is just too expensive. We are here to tell you that none of the above misconceptions are true! Consider the following facts:
• You can have solar on the Hilo side. System size is scalable according to sunlight availability
• The federal tax credit of 30% is in place through 2016
• HELCO is working diligently to upgrade the saturated grids
• There are many great payment options for solar power. Check with your financial institution, or ask us to direct you to helpful banks and credit unions.
There are different ways to approach the switch to solar, and you should choose the one that's best for your budget and needs. For Hawaiians, we recommend purchasing a system for the best value. With financing options, your up-front payment will be just as easy as it would be with a lease or PPA (Power Purchase Agreement). However, if you don't want to worry about ongoing maintenance requirements and just want to trim your energy bill, a lease or a PPA is the way to go.
Arrange to meet with one of our solar consultants. We can take you through Hawaiian PV (photovoltaic) legislation, answer further questions, and explain how solar energy can save you money.
"Your P.A. Harris servicemen were knowledgeable and have made it possible to use the Hawaiian sun to save money. Thanks again for another job well done."
